The body of the garment is made from a corduroy fabric that combines cotton threads of different counts and is woven at high density.
The dyeing process uses mud from the Kyushu region, which is rich in iron, as a dyeing material, and the garment is dyed to create a deep mud brown color.
This is an extremely elaborate natural dyeing process, meticulously carried out by skilled artisans who repeatedly dye and wash the fabric over time.
