The sweatshirt takes root in the origin of American sportswear before the 1950s when synthetic materials became a mainstream. Like LOT.601 T-shirt, the item is characterized by direct cutting lines and a flat shape. Backgrounds of details forgotten in today's apparel production like V gussets, added on the front and back of the neck to stop sweat, is understood by reconstructing the process in earlier times.Elbow patch details are added to style as vintage clothing often found with repair patches.
During times of material scarcity, things – including clothes – were treated as valuable resources. Users often reinforced worn-out elbows with leftover fabric they had on hand. Workers owned multiple denim items and frequently repurposed damaged, unwearable denim as patch material for reinforcement.
The tubular jersey cotton was manufactured by a hanging knitting machine in Wakayama. Rongalite finish achieves a natural fade of a used garment.
