Description

LOT.204 ENGINEER TROUSERS

The work trousers, based on the workpants made in the US in the 1940s, has a low-rise silhouette characterized by straight lines dropping from the thighs. Its waistband has buttons on the reverse side to suggest a styling with suspenders. The item features military moleskin, a thick fabric with a refined luster and slightly
brushed surface just like "mole's skin." Its excellent durability made it a popular fabric for work jackets worn by French coal miners in the 1800s – 1950s. Coarse yarns were deliberately used to replicate the dryness and brushed texture of typical vintage clothing. Pre-treated with mercerization to simultaneously achieve the elegant sheen and rugged appearance.
